THOUGHTS ON FOUNDING

YUICHI SHINGAKI, the founder and CEO of TECHVEGETAS Co., Ltd., studied agriculture at the University of the Ryukyus and began his career providing agricultural extension support at JA Okinawa. He later gained experience in both the IT sector and agricultural distribution, including work at the farmers’ market UruMarche. Through these experiences, he became deeply aware of structural challenges in agriculture, such as farmers struggling to secure buyers even when they produce high-quality crops, and prices falling when harvests are abundant. Combining his long-held ambition to drive an “agricultural revolution” with the practical knowledge he gained in the field, he launched his business in 2015 and established Tech Vegetas Inc. in 2022. Today, the company continues to take on the challenge of bridging the information gap between farmers and buyers through digital technology, with the vision of creating “a world where, once crops are planted, buyers are already secured.”

After graduating from the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of the Ryukyus, he worked for JA Okinawa, an IT company, and UruMarche before launching his own business.
