THOUGHTS ON FOUNDING

When making lending decisions, the most important question is whether the borrower can repay. For startup loans, factors like background and personal funds matter;for existing businesses, performance and growth potential—elements that can largely be expressed in numbers. Yet during my time evaluating loans at a government-affiliated financial institution, I often encountered “non-quantifiable” elements such as founding motives, passion, and vision—factors that made me want to support the entrepreneur. Realizing that an entrepreneur’s story carries invisible value, I founded Yourtory Inc. to help elevate that story. But in management, passion alone cannot overcome every challenge;one must persuade with objective and concrete rationale. That is precisely when a right hand—Yourtory—becomes essential for business leaders.

After graduating from the University of the Ryukyus with a degree in Economics, Mr.Uehara handled numerous loan assessments at a government financial corporation.
