BUSINESS SUMMARY

A startup that creates educational opportunities for all children to experience diversity through international exchange. It is developing several programs, including “Machinaka Ryuugaku,” a homestay program at the home of foreigns residents in Japan, and “WorldClassroom,” an EdTech application that connects students around the world and allows them to practice English in the classroom. It aims to be an infrastructure company that promotes diversity in society through high-quality diversity education.

THOUGHTS ON FOUNDING

HelloWorld's goal is to implement diversity in society. After working as a lawyer, Tommy was assigned as a senior visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, where he was blown away by the winds of Silicon Valley and turned into an entrepreneur. Hikari experienced studying abroad, traveling to eight Asian countries while a student at the University of the Ryukyus. He made a U-turn back to Okinawa and devoted himself to fostering entrepreneurial human resources. Based on their experiences, they co-founded HelloWorld with the belief that diversity can create innovation and realize a sustainable society without divisions. HelloWorld provides educational opportunities (international exchange opportunities) for all children to experience diversity both online and offline, regardless of their birthplace or socio-economic status at home. We are currently developing our business with the aim of achieving both social impact and business.

Hikari, the president of Lagoon Koza, an entrepreneurship training center, and Tommy, former lawyer and senior visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, co-founded HelloWorld in Okinawa in 2020.
