Making nature computable with biodiversity big data

BUSINESS SUMMARY

We utilize natural-related data and AI to "visualize the value of nature," providing various solutions related to the conservation and restoration of natural capital based on biodiversity. By creating a biodiversity market, we aim to achieve a nature-positive society that coexists with nature.

THOUGHTS ON FOUNDING

The insights of natural science stretch across an infinite horizon. However, it is fundamentally difficult to support the infinite possibilities of basic science with a finite national budget. In this context, since around 2015, I have been considering the commercialization of my lab to implement our research on natural history and biodiversity in society. I believe that actions to monetize the outcomes of scientific research can expand the social engagement of individual researchers and generate research seeds in both basic and applied research, potentially leading to a leap in the productivity of science as a whole. For me as a university researcher, it's a challenge, but I hope to create new career paths for researchers and find a promising future for natural science.
