Supporting the creation of a sense of purpose through the joy of harvesting
BUSINESS SUMMARY
I propose an efficient and effective terrestrial aquaculture system that allows people of all ages, including the elderly, to engage in new primary industries and create a sense of purpose. This contributes to the realization of a vibrant new society by producing safe and secure seafood through environmentally considerate methods, thereby helping to improve the food self-sufficiency rate. Additionally, I provide a practical training environment and seminars for those interested in terrestrial aquaculture and engage in public awareness activities.
THOUGHTS ON FOUNDING
I have engaged in university-industry-government collaboration activities, initiating interdisciplinary terrestrial aquaculture research and development projects through joint research with private companies. I also contributed to the establishment of the Nakagusuku Village Aquaculture Technology Research Center (NAICe), a general incorporated association. Especially in the early stages, when resources and manpower were scarce, I resolved technical issues to achieve stable production. Alongside Co-CEO Mr. Miyabayashi, we shipped Yaito Hata (Malabar grouper) to major retail stores, allowing me to personally experience the joy of producing, harvesting, and providing. I founded my company with the goal of addressing the issue of aging, which I have a deep connection with, by enabling people of all ages, including the elderly, to experience the joy of harvesting and thereby creating a sense of purpose and contributing to the creation of a vibrant society.
Shimabukuro : Co-Creation Management Department, University of the Ryukyus, Special Assistant Professor. I worked as a manufacturing SE in the United States and for foreign-affiliated companies after returning to Japan. I have been involved in industry-academia-government collaboration projects in Okinawa since 2010. I have experienced the joy of producing and harvesting through collaborative research in terrestrial aquaculture, and have founded a company to promote its wider adoption.
Miyabayashi : I am dedicated to creating many smiles through food and work in consulting related to food. I have contributed to the exit strategy of the “Ryudai Mibai Project” (translated as Grouper Project of the University of the Ryukyus), establishing shipping achievements with entities like Japan Transocean Air and Aeon Ryukyu.
